A two-dimensional plot with the variation is pretty illustrative of what you&#8217;d expect:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.discovermagazine.com\/gnxp\/files\/2010\/07\/leunordicdb.png\" alt=\"leunordicdb\" title=\"leunordicdb\" width=\"600\" height=\"354\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5264\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Finns are <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.discovermagazine.com\/gnxp\/2009\/05\/genetic-structure-of-eastern-european-populations\/\">genetic outliers in Europe<\/a>, to some extent even in comparison to Estonians, who speak a very similar language.
