There is a huge difference between providing your raw genomic information, and providing diagnostic interpretation.<\/p>\n<p>The AMA letter http:\/\/www.ama-assn.org\/resources\/doc\/washington\/consumer-genetic-testing-letter.pdf clearly stated that it was directed to \u201d direct to consumer (DTC) genetic tests that make medical claims\u201d and it is \u201cthe making of medical claims\u201d that puts certain offerings of DTC genetic testing squarely in the FDA\u2019s domain; uninterpreted DTC genetic test results \u2013 the raw sequence \u2013 are NOT in the FDA\u2019s domain under current regulations. Medical claims are.
